Thomas's SNOB plans have given me an idea...
We need to hold a Chicago area bloggers meeting. This gathering should center on a very important event: the re-release of Life of Brian into movie theaters. What say ye? All those under my "It's a Chicago Thing" list are invited, as well as spouses, fiance/es, friends, etc. Nothing says fun like watching a movie in which crucifixion is cause for a musical number. You don't even need to be a theology geek to enjoy that, I say.
So, Scott, Tripp, Geoff, Marck (what happened to Marck?), Darren, Robyn, Cliff, and well, heck, anyone else, what say ye?
i am up for it, but it may take awhile for us all to cordinate our
schedules, yes? also, take

[Holding hat in hand and looking both pitiful and haughty] Can Ohio SNOBS
swing by for a visit?
Well, as a Methodist, I'd say we'll have to form a committee to study this
issue of non-Chicago bloggers attending. Wait, first we have to have a
nominating committee to nominate people to be on the committee. Then once
the actual committee meets, should we write a mission statement and vision
plan for our group before we make a recommendation? Do we need a slogan?
CLABS (Chicagoland area bloggers): open hearts, open doors, open to Monty
Python fans.
Heck, if you can think of a better acronym than CLAB, Thomas, you're in.
i'll pass on the committee but I'll join in for the musical number. please
let this be after Easter though...and everyone give Tripp a hard time b/c I
was actually going to meet him off-line and he bailed on me!
I think the Martian Foot growing out of Tripp's forehead has him a little
shy of such meetings. Try not to stare - I hear that makes the things grow
even larger...
*scratches foot*
Um, yeah. I can come after Easter. When is that? And can someone please send me a memo...and a sheepdog to guide me?
Geoff seems like a very nice man.
Definitely after Easter. I have no idea when it opens, but I'll keep an
eye out. So, when (a Saturday?) and where?
I barely noticed the Martian Foot, Tripp. (That's right Geoff - I didn't get stood up. So maybe it's you. Maybe you should examine your Martian Footism more deeply.)
saturday afternoon perhap? it's the best time to get someone to watch
Soren (our 10 month old).
I think that if I see the 20+ year-old "Life of Brian" in a theater before
seeing "The Passion," I will burst into flames.

i'm up for a get-together, but i must confess that i'm not a huge Python
fan ... though i probably appreciate the humor in the scenes of Life of
Brian more than any other Python movie/TV episode i've seen.
so regardless of the theme, count me in. just make sure it's after East-- oops. well, um ... after the move (June 17), then? *weak grin*
