Since Tuesday's entry sparked a lot of discussion here and elsewhere, I thought it'd be only polite to link to those.
Tripp, Cliff and others discuss the role of husbands here and here.
Thomas has some thoughts on abused women and trinitarian language and additional musings on gender here.
Keith reminds us that "we cannot assume that we know what words like "love" or "father" mean unless we know what they mean in particular instances in the particular stories of scripture."
Also, I found this link via Keith about what denomination really fits your beliefs best. (I'm a United Methodist.) My results: 1) Anglican 2) Evangelical Lutheran 3) Eastern Orthodox 4) Missouri-Synod Lutheran 5) Methodist. Egads!!!
How does one answer to have it come up with Anglican as #1? Mine was
Missouri-Synod Lutheran if you can believe it. All the Scandanavian
Lutherans from my first church would be appalled...
My results came in very similar to yours, except #4 was Seventh-Day
Adventist and Missouri Synod was bumped to 5. Now I'm really curious what
put SDA up there, since I know practically nothing about their
doctrine.
Although I kind of entered more what I'd like my church to believe rather than what I believe. It's weird that they should be different, but they are.

1. Episcopal/Anglican...good thing, as that's where I've been for 25
years!
2. Methodist...of course; our sister church.
3. Liberal Quaker...pacifism, quiet; yea, I can live with that.
4. Presbyterian...currently I have a Presbyterian assistant; getting to know that tradition a bit better...Calvin hasn't been mentioned once in the 8 months I've been there; imagine that.
5. 7th day Adventist...say what?
Oddly enough, it pegged me as being a member of The
Church. Not sure how that happened...
I tried it first without adjusting the importance of the beliefs at all
(everything weighted equally). I got: 1) Episcopal/Anglican, 2) Seventh
Day Adventist (huh?), 3) Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4) Liberal Quaker.
Big contrast to Beliefnet, which had my number one choice as Liberal
Quaker, and number two as Unitarian.
Then I tried weighting more highly the things that had actually led me to choose Quakerism. I got: 1) Episcopal/Anglican (I just can't shake that), 2) Liberal Quaker, 3) Seventh Day Adventist, 4) Evangelical Lutheran, 5) Methodist/Wesleyan Church, 6) Unity Church, 7) Mennonite.
I thought a little about the rankings, and experimented with turning off my agreement with "tradition plays a role in the church" (although it really does). As I suspected, this dropped Episcopal/Anglican down in the rankings, and I got: 1) Liberal Quakerism, 2) Seventh Day Adventist, 3) Episcopal/Anglican, 4) Unity Church, 5) Evangelical Lutheran, 6) Mennonite, 7) Methodist/Wesleyan Church.
I had always had the vague impression that Seventh Day Adventists were a bunch of fundies (though pacifist fundies); I guess not, since they come so high on my list and I had firmly turned Biblical literalism off. I suppose saying that I disagreed with Sunday being the preferred day of worship (I don't think God cares which day you choose) helped raise them on my list. That and pacifism (Seventh Day Adventists traditionally don't fight in wars, though they're traditionally willing to serve as medics).
